The domain v-fans.net, which fan-sites.org owns, has expired. I have notified Gertie and I’m soon she’ll renew it as soon as she sees the message.
To my great relief, the renewals/transfers of crystalfires.net and wraithfans.com went well and in fact, has completed already according to Namecheap 😀 So no worries! Nothing’s going offline 😀
Netfirms, where I bought most of my domains, have finished migrating my account(s) to their new Control Panel platform today. The e-mail I got says that the domain DNS will automatically be pointed to the new platform and I don’t know what that means in my case – I don’t host any site with them, only the domains, and the DNS points to fan-sites.org where my sites are hosted. I don’t know if Netfirms is going change DNS point to their platform even when the site isn’t hosted with Netfirms, or whether the original DNS remains in effect (which frankly is bad customer service if it doesn’t). I just checked my domains on their Admin Panel, and seems the informations aren’t there at all. So I guess it’s going to take some time for all the DNS, domain privacy etc. settings to show up in the new Admin Panel.
So this is a heads-up: if my sites go offline in the next few days, don’t worry! I’ll be keeping an eye everything, and make any changes as necessary.
I have enabled hotlink protection for my fanart site http://dreams.crystalfires.net People were linking to my stuff and using up more than 2GB of my bandwithd a month :< Especially a bunch of Portugese/Spanish Spartacus: Blood And Sand forums and sites were doing this with my icons and wallpapers :/ FUCK YOU bandwidth stealers!
As you can see, we have a new look up here! I visited today the awesome site Aun Existe Amor; I have long loved their designs, and was so happy to see that they have released their first WordPress theme I just had to use it immediately!
