Game Of Thrones Season 1 4K/UHD Screencaps Complete
Finished uploading 4K/UHD screencaps from Game Of Thrones season 1
Also - I'm so very happy! I finally, after searching for a couple of years, found a way to cap 4K/UHD HDR videos with VirtualDub and Avisynth! And it only takes about 1 hour 15 mins (!!!) for an hour episode whereas the FFMPEG method takes about 6 hours! All eps starting with 1x04 and 4x06 onwards were done with VirtualDub, the earlier eps with FFMPEG.

Got a request to cap 7.07 The Dragon And The Wolf, so I did it next :)

Game Of Thrones 1.01 Winter Is Coming 4K/UHD Screencaps
I test capped the pilot episode, like I said I would in my previous GOT post, to see what it looks like being an upconvert from 1080p to 4K/UHD instead of real 4K/UHD. I think it looks very nice! I do notice that some, such as distance shots of King's Landing or Winterfell don't have the clarity you'd expect from a 4K/UHD, but people do seem to look nice for the most part, enough so that I'm hard pressed to tell that it is a upconvert. I shall be doing some more caps! Link to the 1.01 Winter Is Coming gallery after the samples.

Game Of Thrones 4K/UHD Screencaps
Couldn't resist capping Game Of Thrones season 4 in 4K/UHD (3840x2160) when I saw it, especially when a friend asked me if I was going to :) It's my understanding that only seasons 4-8 are true 4K/UHD, and seasons 1-3 have been upscaled from 1080p to 4K/UHD. I'd like to cap those early seasons in 4K/UHD because they're my favorites, but I'll have to check what they look like first.
The screencaps look a little darker from the Bluray/DVD ones because the 4K/UHD versions are HDR format (it appears washed out if your hardware/software doesn't support it) which screencapping and video programs can't quite handle yet (it's such a new technology, not widely spread yet) so this is the best I could do with ffmpeg.
This is something of a temporary gallery - I don't know how long the screencaps will be up. Depends on my mood! But for now, I want to share these :-D So I recommend you download them ASAP if you want them 8-)
I also don't know how many episodes I'll cap - it takes about 6-8 hours for ffmpeg to run through one episode and produce the screencaps because it needs to convert the video from HDR to SDR to get the colors/brightness more or less right and that's slow on my computer.
Two New Game Of Thrones Wallpapers
Made these two wallies today :) I'm delighted with both - the Sandor wallpaper is exactly what envisioned when I started, and although the Melisandre one was unplanned and I didn't really know what to do with the image, it just sort of fell into place. I love when wallies go my way and I don't have to fight for it :D
