Friday 5 for January 3: On deck

Answers to f.riday.com questions!

1. What book are you going to read next?

I don’t know just yet. I just started Murhat ja mindfullness by Karsten Dusse day before yesterday, and I also have 4 other books under work. The situation is uncertain at the moment. I will have to return a bunch of books to the library on Thursday because there are holds on them and I can’t renew them because of that, and some that I have renewed already so many times that I have to take them in now and ask if I can have them again (always yes, if there’s no holds on them). So I’m not sure what and how many books I’ll have in a couple of days and haven’t planned for next one because of that. I’m concentrating on finishing Murhat ja mindfullness by Thursday now. Some of my own holds might also come in by Thursday, and then I’ll have to check if they have holds on them and then read the ones that do first.

2. What movie will you most likely see next?

No concrete plans. I’m thinking I want to see Gladiator 2 whenever it becomes available (or is it already, I should check)? I’m not going to see anything in the movie theatres.

3. What are you doing the day after tomorrow?

No idea. No plans. Probably just my usual: read, watch tv, listen to music, maybe paint/play with watercolors.

4. This is going to be a great year, but what are you looking forward to next year?

Yeah, no… it’s not going to be a great year. Absolutely nothing points to that. Only me winning millions in the lottery, or the dissolution of this far-right government this year in the middle of its term could make this year great.

I can’t see 2026 yet. Too many, likely disastrous, profound changes for the unemployed and the poor by this far-right government are in the planning for 2026 but details are still completely up in the air. As for my personal life, my health stuff which is the other ruling thing in my life along with poverty, can change a million times yet during this year alone, both for the better as well as the worst, and can’t predict what could be possible next year. There’s no data. So I truly can’t see 2026 yet at all. It’s just a big blank with questions marks when I think about it.

5. What are you looking forward to opening once you’ve used up the current product?

Cheese is always this, but currently I don’t have unopened cheese because I opened it just two days ago! I don’t need to buy a new one yet. But basically, I’m already looking forward to opening my next cheese, even if I haven’t even bought it yet! 😂
