Some 2023 tallies…
I made 6 wallpapers in 2023: 1 for movie Elizabeth, 2 for Star Trek SNW and 3 for Battlestar Galactica. I can’t believe I made so few wallpapers! I’m pretty sure I’ve never made that few before.
I made 11 FocusWriter themes in 2023.
I wrote 70,942 words in 2023. My GYWO goal was 75,000 words so I didn’t quite make it but it’s the closest I’ve ever gotten!
I read 74 novels from cover to cover. And I quit 6 novels in the middle because I didn’t like them/didn’t care for some reason or another. I’m proud to have quit that many – I used to be a completist: if I started reading a novel, I had to finish it. It’s taken me years to get to a point I can quit without finishing without feeling terribly quilty! I still feel a little quilty, but I’ve taken to telling myself that there are too many good books waiting to be read to waste time on something that I actively don’t enjoy or just simply don’t care about in anyway! That number 74 includes both physical books and ebooks; majority is physical books but there were a few ebooks among there. Most of what I read was detective stories and adjacent ( medical examiner, journalist etc. solving crimes instead of police detectives), phychological thrillers and scifi.
In addition I read an untold number of fanfic! Some of the fanfics were a 100,000 or more words in just a single work, so I probably read something like close to a million words in fanfic altogether in 2023.
