I test capped the pilot episode, like I said I would in my previous GOT post, to see what it looks like being an upconvert from 1080p to 4K/UHD instead of real 4K/UHD. I think it looks very nice! I do notice that some, such as distance shots of King’s Landing or Winterfell don’t have the clarity you’d expect from a 4K/UHD, but people do seem to look nice for the most part, enough so that I’m hard pressed to tell that it is a upconvert.
